Description: The Office of Rural Health (ORH) conducts, coordinates, promotes, and disseminates research on issues that impact Veterans who live in rural communities. ORH supports innovative research, programs, and care models to support rural Veterans’ access to quality care. The Veterans Access Research Consortium (VARC) is pleased to support this Cyberseminar, which will provide an overview of ORH’s access-related priorities and two recent ORH-funded projects. Dr. Gurewich will present her recent ORH-funded work examining how Veterans’ access to care has changed since the passage of the Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability (i.e., “Choice”) Act. Dr. Ward will present his recent ORH-funded work focused on enhancing access to emergency mental health care using telemedicine. Current access-related priorities and how to leverage partnered research with ORH to continue improving rural Veterans’ access to care will be discussed. Intended Audience: This presentation is intended for researchers, clinicians, operations, and anyone interested in access-related research and rural health.
