Using PowerBI to Accelerate National Implementation of Evidence-based Practices

Description: Investigators from the VA Measurement Science QUERI will describe how they are using Power BI dashboards to improve patient safety and quality of care in the VA's learning healthcare system. They will discuss three national initiatives focused on (1) increasing remote monitoring adherence among patients with cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (Cardiologist Sanket Dhruva, MD, MHS), (2) improving colonoscopy quality (Gastroenterologist Tonya Kaltenbach, MD, MS), and (3) promoting safe prescribing of disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (Rheumatologist Gabriela Schmajuk, MD, MSc).

Objectives: 1. Understand how Power BI dashboards are being used to accelerate the implementation of evidence-based practices in the VA's national learning healthcare system.
2. Learn about the VA National Cardiovascular Device Surveillance Program (NCDSP)
3. Learn about the VA Endoscopy Quality Improvement Program (VA-EQuIP)
4. Learn about improving the safety of patients prescribed disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs)
