Identifying Best Practices within the MOVE! Weight Management Program for Veterans: An Application of Qualitative Comparative Analysis

by Leila Kahwati, MD MPH ; Heather Kane, PhD ; Megan Lewis, PhD
Seminar date: 12/15/2011

Description: This seminar will summarize the application of a mixed-method called qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) to identifying best practices within the MOVE! Weight Management Program for Veterans. QCA is a systematic method for using qualitative data to make comparisons across cases. The QCA method is based on set-theory and is useful for evaluating causal complexity, when multiple causal conditions and interactions between conditions may be present.
