Description: This seminar highlights qualitative findings from the Relationships and PTSD Study: Detection of Intimate Partner Violence (NRI 04-040); investigating the impact of Veteran’s PTSD on intimate partner relationship and specific dynamics when intimate partner violence (IVP) also exists. These relationships demonstrated the development of unique, identifiable and problematic dynamics that exacerbate conflict & distress while simultaneously minimizing the couple’s capacity to communicate and resolve conflict. Findings across the spectrum from the highly distressed to thriving couples will be presented.
