Description: Abstract: This program evaluation shows that telehealth delivery of multimodal CIH interventions that included mindfulness, horticultural therapy, and yoga resulted in a significant reduction in depression and PTSD symptoms amongst 60 Veterans who completed the pre-post telehealth CIH programming. Specifically, improvements in pain symptoms, and stress management skills were observed in Veterans at-risk with prior history of suicidal ideation or attempt. These findings underscore the importance and utility of CIH interventions in suicide prevention efforts to improve overall wellness and broaden access to care in at-risk populations experiencing health disparities.
Target audience: Complementary and integrative health researchers and practitioners interested in incorporating and evaluating the effectiveness of CIH interventions in clinical care and practice.
