Veteran and Primary Care Provider Perspectives on Improving Alcohol-Related Care

Description: In this Cyberseminar, Dr. Bachrach will summarize perspectives on alcohol-related care gleaned from semi-structured interviews with 22 Veterans (45.5% female, 41.0% Black) and 10 primary care providers of varying clinical discipline. Major areas of focus include barriers and facilitators to providing evidence-based alcohol-related care and identifying areas for improvement. The presenter will also discuss how qualitative findings were used to inform an implementation science intervention to improve care. Intended Audience: Health research scientists interested in qualitative methods, substance use care, and/or implementation science; members of Patient Aligned Care Teams (PACTs); members of Primary Care-Mental Health Integration teams; and Veterans interested in substance use care within VA.
