Description: COL Jamie Grimes' talk is titled: TBI Theater Systems of Care. COL Grimes will describe the process from the moment of injury that a deployed service member sustains a concussion, including the immediate evaluation and diagnosis, continuing to discussion of treatment, including an overview of Afghanistan Concussion Care Centers and DoD policy implementation. COL Beverly Scott's talk is titled: Deployed TBI Clinical Care. COL Beverly Scott will present her acute concussion care experience in Afghanistan, emphasizing the importance of early identification and management of concussion and co-morbidities to maximize recovery. Her case presentations will highlight enhanced concussion care capability with neurology and behavioral health specialists involved in battlefield care.
