Multiple PACT Membership, Turnover, and Patient Emergency Department Use

Description: We analyze 6 years of monthly team assignment reports in primary care hospitals and clinics at the VHA to investigate relationships of multiple PACT membership (primary care personnel belonging to more than one PACT simultaneously), PACT member turnover, and patient emergency department use. Results suggest that multiple PACT membership and PACT member turnover are seemingly unrelated. However, multiple PACT membership and rising PACT member turnover both predict future increases in patient emergency department use.
