Description: “Pharmacoequity”, coined by Dr Utibe Essien in 2021, is achieved when each individual, regardless of race and ethnicity or socioeconomic status, have the resources and access to the highest quality evidence-based medications required to manage their health needs. The March Focus on Health Equity and Action Cyberseminar will highlight the barriers and facilities to Pharmacoequity that exist in our healthcare systems and areas in which there are observed racial and ethnic disparities in prescriptions for newer evidence-based treatments, particularly in cardiovascular disease. The session will also provide opportunities where clinicians, pharmacists and researchers can intervene to address Pharmacoequity across the Veterans Health Administration.
