VIReC Clinical Informatics Seminar

Effect of EHR Use on Patient-Provider Communication

by Zia Agha, MD, MS
Seminar date: 12/17/2013

Description: EHR's have the potential to improve patient safety and clinical efficiency, but some studies suggest that EHR's integrate poorly in clinical workflow and have a number of usability issues. In particular, EHR's must support efficient documentation and information retrieval of patient information at the point of care. We will share findings from our research (PACE study) to highlight EHR usability issues in the context of clinical work.
