PE-Web: A Web-Based Training Program for Providers in Prolonged Exposure for PTSD

by Ken Ruggiero, Ph.D.
Seminar date: 1/21/2014

Description: Dr. Ruggiero will introduce PE Web, an 8-10 hour online training course in prolonged exposure (PE) for post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that was developed under an HSR&D grant. PE is a best-practice intervention for PE. The training site is designed to be used as a pre-workshop preparation course, but also can be used as a refresher course and as an everyday resource for VA and non-VA providers. Each module is introduced by Dr. Edna Foa, who developed PE. The online course includes many demonstration videos, extensive educational content, knowledge checks, and clinical challenge content. CE certificates are available upon completion of the course. Dr. Ruggiero will discuss the development of the course, its potential use in the context of national training initiatives, and will describe evaluation data from other, similar projects that his collaborators have launched previously.
