QUERI Implementation Seminar

Using Clinical Databases and Digital Health Technology to Build a Learning Health System and Patient Centered Care and Support

by John Øvretveit, PhD
Seminar date: 2/11/2014

Description: The purpose of this seminar is to better understand the value, use and future of local and regional data-bases with data on each patient’s demographics, diagnosis, treatments and outcomes. Sweden has over 100 national clinical data bases which are used for quality improvement. This session will describe one – the rheumatoid arthritis register covering 70% of patients in Sweden with this condition, and which has been developed for patients to use to share decision making and for self-care and for performance comparisons and locates this within the development of a learning health system.
