Dennis Andrulis, PhD

Seminar date: 3/5/2014
Description: One of the central tenets of the Affordable Care Act is to advance health equity for racially and ethnically diverse populations. Provisions intended to support public health and prevention, primary care and other workforce expansion, and specific service innovation such as patient centered medical homes also have embedded within them attention to if not direct efforts to promote diversity as well as cultural and linguistic competence in improving access to and quality of care. This presentation will describe the original equity vision of the ACA and discuss the progress to date in realizing that vision. Closing remarks will consider challenges and steps for advancing the equity agenda for these programs and services.
Target audience: VA staff at all levels-facilities, Veteran Integrated Service Networks (VISN), program office and VA Central Office to include Administrators, Clinicians and Researchers.
