Bevanne Bean-Mayberry, MD, MHS
Seminar date: 7/22/2014
Description: Given the prevalence of traumatic experiences and mental health illness among women Veterans, this session will provide an overview of women Veterans in the VA, as well as describe lessons learned from VA Health Services Research and VA Clinical Care and how it can inform health care services across VA nationwide and also within non-VA sectors. This presentation will also summarize findings on how traumatic exposure and PTSD are related to poor physical health. Finally, the presentation will include discussion of the implications of these findings for women Veterans who are treated in primary care settings.
