Diffusion Tensor Imaging Findings in Mild Traumatic Brain Injury

Description: This presentation reviews the principles of diffusion tensor imaging so that it can be understood in the context of newer tools that will be discussed as well as findings in individuals with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Findings from sports-related mTBI and subconcussive blows to the head in sports as well as finding in chronic mTBI will be reviewed from work conducted by the investigator and colleagues. Several new studies will also be reviewed which are just getting underway. The intended audience includes physicians who treat patients with mTBI, neurologists, psychiatrists, trainees interested in mTBI, and neuroscientists.
