Description: This talk will provide a brief overview of qualitative research on adherence to opioid therapy in the context of qualitative research on medication adherence. Dr. Lewis will describe findings about opioid use behaviors in a sample of Veterans who received an opioid prescription, including the prevalence of different patterns of use and the link between these patterns of use and mental health conditions. The talk will also discuss the implications of what we know about adherence to opioid therapy for research, clinical practice, public health, and policy.
