QUERI Implementation Seminar

Evaluating implementation and combining improvement and implementation sciences

by John Øvretveit, PhD
Seminar date: 1/22/2015

Description: 1) How can researchers and practitioners best assess implementation strategies for interventions to patients, practitioners and service delivery organizations, including Va scale up strategies? 2) What is the difference between improvement science and implementation science and does it matter? The seminar presents answers to these questions based on a recent CIPRS scan of research and the experience of two researchers with over 20 years with research, practice and organizations working in both the improvement and implementation fields. Target audience: researchers and practitioners unfamiliar with improvement and/or implementation research. It will summarize some hybrid outcome/implementation evaluation methods. It draws on the book, Øvretveit 2014 Evaluating improvement and implementation for health.
