Description: This cyberseminar will: 1) define and compare shared decision making to other patient-physician decision making styles; 2) describe heuristics and biases that can affect both patients' and physicians' decision making; 3) describe risk communication methods than can aid in shared decision making; 4) describe use of decision making interventions to improve patients' decision making. The intended audience is clinicians and researchers interested in shared decision making but who are relatively inexperienced in the topic.
