Description: Summary: This session is a continuation of VIReC’s Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW) cyberseminar series. It introduces new users to the most commonly used Structured Query Language (SQL) commands (e.g., SELECT, FROM, WHERE, GROUP BY and ORDER BY). These basic commands will be applied to a view in CDW production domains and then to an equivalent view in CDW’s raw domains. Prior to this session, new users are encouraged to review the previous CDW cyberseminars on HSR&D’s archive (VA Intranet only). Objectives: (1) Provide an introduction to the CDW server environment and (2) Provide new CDW users with a few basic SQL programming skills. Target audience: Principal Investigators, Data Managers, or Analysts who want to learn how to write a basic query in SQL.
