Social Media: Part 1) From Personal to Public Health & Part 2) A Press Release is not Enough (follow-up session)

by Austin Frakt, PhD ; Eli Perencevich, MD
Seminar date: 3/9/2015

Description: This is a two part presentation. In Part 1, Dr. Perencevich will discuss how he’s used social media in his career as an infectious disease clinician and researcher. In Part 2, Dr. Frakt will reply to questions and comments from his Social Media Cyberseminar, held in December 2014, which is available 24/7 via HSR&D’s online cyberseminar archive catalog. In that prior session he examined how the health services research community has a communication problem, in that too little of their good work is reaching policymakers’ ears. He explained why that is and how social media can be used to enhance dissemination of that work. Dr. Frakt also provided a few tips on how to get started, if you would like to use social media for this purpose. Target audience: Anyone interested in using social media to advance health services research.
