Description: Description: This seminar focuses on available VA data related to date and cause of death, discusses the quality and utility of these data, and provides examples of their use in research. Objectives: • Introduce data sources for Veteran vital status ascertainment and cause of death • Describe the strengths and limitations of the various data sources • Present recent Data Quality work focused on mortality data in the CDW and activity after death • Present a research example using Suicide Data Repository for comparing mortality in VHA and non-VHA Veterans Intended Audience: Researchers, operational users of data, data analysts, data managers
