Abstract:

High-quality bowel preparation (prep) before colonoscopy is essential for the success of the procedure. Bowel preps should be safe, tolerable, efficacious, and allow for visualization of polyps 5 mm or larger. Full-volume (4 L) polyethylene glycol-3350 with electrolyte solution (PEG-ELS) has been considered a standard bowel prep regimen, with good safety and efficacy profiles, and is available as a generic..
