Friedberg JP, Lipsitz SR, Natarajan S. Challenges and recommendations for blinding in behavioral interventions illustrated using a case study of a behavioral intervention to lower blood pressure. Patient education and counseling. 2010 Jan 1; 78(1):5-11.

The challenges and recommendations described may need modifications in behavioral intervention studies for symptomatic conditions.
