Abstract:

In the summer and fall of 2009, a research team from the VA Rural Health Resource Center - Central Region conducted a needs assessment of a sample of primary care clinics in VISN 23. This presentation is an overview of the results. The target audience includes clinical staff and providers in CBOC's and VAMC, as well as others interested in the challenges and opportunities of accessing and providing healthcare to rural Veterans. One of the objectives of the presentation is to elicit feedback from VA clinical staff and providers regarding how the findings compare to their own experiences serving rural Veterans.
