VHA Vocational Rehabilitation for Veterans with TBI

Abstract:

This talk will provide background on what we know about TBI and unemployment in the general population, review some of the vocational rehabilitation issues discussed at the last TBI State of the Art Conference in 2008, discuss the VHA vocational rehabilitation programs and Polytrauma System of Care, and research that has been done on VA and non-VA populations that has demonstrated the effectiveness of certain vocational rehabilitation approaches, and then discuss future efforts that VHA may consider to increase access to effective vocational rehabilitation programs for Veterans with TBI.
