Maciejewski ML. Weight Management SOTA: Briefing before the VA-convened panel on weight management. Participants included both VA and non-VA researchers and representatives from VA clinical partners; 2016 Mar 7; Washington, DC.
HSRandD convened HSRandD researchers, non-VA researchers and select representatives of VA clinical partners who were experts in weight management to address three questions: 1) What important questions do not have sufficient evidence to guide practice and clinical policy that can inform recommendations for future research? 2) What issues or new developments are on the horizon that may need to be considered in research, planning, and policy? 3) Where is the evidence sufficient to move to implementation? This in-person meeting generated reports from 3 working groups (behavioral, pharmacologic, bariatric surgery) about the research and implementation priorities for VA to consider.
