Her work focuses on increasing the uptake and sustainment of evidence-based practices into routine care settings. Dr. Elwy works closely with the VA Office of Clinical Services on the Disclosure Support Program in the Clinical Episode Review Team Program Office. Additionally, Dr. Elwy is MPI of the Bridge QUERI Program (QUE 20-017), an implementation science program focused on mental health and substance use interventions being spread and sustained through three Hybrid Type 3 effectiveness-implementation studies in 18 sites. Dr. Elwy is also MPI of the VA QUERI Evidence, Policy, and Implementation Center (EBP 22-104), which seeks to increase the use of implementation science across the VA healthcare system. In her university role, Dr. Elwy created the Brown Research on Implementation and Dissemination to Guide Evidence Use (BRIDGE) Program, which seeks to build capacity for implementation science across Rhode Island and nationally. Dr. Elwy is an elected Fellow of the Society of Behavioral Medicine and is a Presidential Leadership Scholar, Class of 2024.
