Evidence-Based Suicide Assessment: Guidance for Clinicians and Policy Makers

by Peter Gutierrez, PhD
Seminar date: 7/8/2019

Description: Results from a large study of U.S. service members at risk of suicide will be presented to highlight how evidence-based suicide-specific assessment tools can be incorporated into clinical practice. Based on evidence of reliability, validity, ease of administration and interpretation, recommendations will be made for which combination of measures is best suited for use in mental health and other settings where routine care is provided for Veterans at risk of suicide. Intended audience: Clinicians, researchers, and service chiefs charged with making decisions about assessing suicide risk in Veterans engaged in ongoing clinical care.
