HERC Health Economics Seminar

One-Year Costs Associated with the VA National TeleStroke Program (NTSP)

by Todd Wagner, PhD
Seminar date: 2/17/2021

Description: Abstract: Access to timely care is particularly important for patients with stroke, where rapid diagnosis and treatment can have a large impact on functional status, disability and mortality. Telestroke programs connect stroke specialists with emergency department staff at facilities that lack on-site stroke expertise. In this seminar, the presenter will discuss results from a study examining healthcare costs for stroke patients who sought care before and after VA’s National TeleStroke Program (NTSP). Target Audience: People interested in the economics of implementing new care programs.
