Robot-assisted Surgery for Esophageal Cancer: Analysis of Short- and Long-term Outcomes

Description: Esophagectomy is an important component of esophageal cancer treatment that can be performed via open, thoraco-laparoscopic, or robot-assisted approaches. Adoption of robot-assisted minimally invasive esophagectomy (RAMIE) continues to increase, but questions remain about its utility compared to other approaches. A systematic review was performed to examine the short and long-term outcomes of RAMIE as compared to open and other minimally-invasive approaches to esophagectomy for cancer.
