Intention and Serendipity: Fostering Mentoring and Developmental Networks Among Early Career Clinician Researchers

by Mark Hager, PhD ; Julie Weitlauf, PhD
Seminar date: 7/13/2021

Description: This Cyberseminar will briefly review the literature on strategies for and benefits of fostering strong mentoring relationships and personal and professional networks among early career clinician scientists. Presenters will emphasize both the intentional nature of these efforts (e.g., the value of intentional networking throughout the early career period) and serendipitous nature (e.g., being in the right place at the right time) of fostering early career networks. Examples from successful networking events within the Career Development Award Enhancement initiative (CDAei) will be discussed. Intended Audience: This webinar will be especially appropriate for early career clinician scientists (e.g., CDA awardees) within HSR&D.
