Effects of Remote Blast Exposure on Brain Structure

by Sarah Martindale, PhD ; Jared Rowland, PhD
Seminar date: 10/21/2021

Description: Exposure to blasts is common among service members regardless of whether a resulting traumatic brain injury (TBI) or PTSD occur. Despite evidence that PTSD and deployment TBI affect brain volume, less is known about how exposure to blasts may contribute. This webinar will present recent evidence showing independent effects of blast exposure on brain volume, beyond PTSD and deployment TBI, as well as clinical implications of these findings.
Intended Audience: Researchers and clinicians with interest in effects of blast on the brain.
