Seminar date: 3/1/2022
Description: Chronic musculoskeletal pain and comorbid depressive symptoms are exceedingly common in older adults and lead to significant morbidity. Behavioral approaches are needed, especially among medically and psychologically complex older adults. Dr. Makris will present the iterative process of developing MOTIVATE (Moving to Improve Pain and Depression in Older Adults): a remotely delivered intervention by health coaches. She will present preliminary data from a pilot randomized controlled trial and discuss next steps for future evaluation of effectiveness and implementation for MOTIVATE.
