Description: This session will provide an overview of current literature related to white matter alterations and suicidality in Veterans and present findings from a project which examined associations between white matter integrity, suicidal ideation, and cognitive dysfunction in Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans. The potential clinical implications of the findings will be discussed.

This presentation is intended for researchers and clinicians interested in suicide risk factors and the utilization of basic neuroscience findings for the development of novel prevention and intervention approaches.
