Description: This cyberseminar is the second in a series of three focused on the processes, regulatory requirements, and resources for accessing VA data for research, preparatory to research, and operational/quality improvement purposes. This session addresses prep to research access to VA data. Our primary goal is to increase VA researcher awareness and understanding of how to access data needed to support the development of protocols for proposed research studies on behalf of Veterans.

Objectives:
* To outline types of data access and the various data sources, tools, and provisioning options for prep to research data access
* To explain which regulatory requirements are and are not applicable to prep to research data requests
* To provide a brief overview of the VHA Data Portal, DART application, and other data request processes for prep to research data access
