Using Medicare data to study COVID-19 in Veterans

Description: This cyberseminar, part of the new miniseries focused on CMS data, will demonstrate how VA researchers can utilize Medicare data when studying COVID-19 or COVID-19 vaccines. The presentation will include a brief overview of Medicare data, statistics on the number of Veterans with COVID-19 and/or COVID-19 vaccines in the Medicare data, and examples of ways the Medicare data can be used to study COVID-19.

Objectives:
• To demonstrate the importance of including Medicare data in VA research on COVID-19
• To identify types of Medicare data that can be used when studying COVID-19
• To discuss strengths and limitations of using Medicare data to study COVID-19
• Explain how to access and where to find support for working with COVID-19 data
