Description: The Pain Services Evaluation Program supports the VA Pain Management, Opioid Safety and Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PMOP) in the development of best practices for evaluating, implementing, and sustaining high-quality pain care throughout VHA, and assists PMOP in evaluating the impact of PMOP initiatives towards improved pain management. This talk will provide an overview of the Pain Services Evaluation Program and focus on our evaluation of the implementation and impact of PMOP funded coordinators and three PMOP funded initiatives (Active Management of Pain, Medication Management for Pain Management Teams, and Whole Health Coaching). Guided by the RE-AIM framework, our evaluation uses a mixed-methods approach, including review of administrative data, staff-level surveys, interviews, and focus groups. Target audience includes VA and VA affiliated providers, researchers, and evaluators with an interest in VA pain services and initiatives.
