Description: This session will review the importance of planning for data use during the development of a research protocol, including the factors that influence data needs, data questions that need to be answered early in protocol development and planning for data privacy and security in the protocol. The presenter will share examples of experiences and methods from their research that illustrate key topics. Andrew Holbrook, from VINCI Data Services, will be available for Q&A with the audience.
Objectives: 1. Identify factors that influence data needs
2. Discuss data-related questions that need to be answered early in protocol development
3. Describe special considerations related to privacy and security, data use and sharing
