Abstract:

Part 1) Dr. Pfeiffer will review his research regarding the VHA care patients receive after discharge from a psychiatric hospitalization for depression. He will present findings from analysis of VHA medical record data and from surveys and interviews with patients. Ongoing pilot intervention work will also be discussed. Part 2) Dr. Trivedi will cover assessed ACSCs among cohorts of Veterans with depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) before and after PACT to determine the influence of PACT on the rate of ACSC-related hospitalizations. Target audience includes: Clinical care Providers, managers, anyone interested on how Veterans are affected by the PACT initiative, and researchers interested in care transitions for patients with mental health disorders.
