Facility-level factors in the VA EHR transition: Findings from an expert panel process

Description: Obtaining regularly-collected data about key facility-level factors influencing EHR transitions can be crucial to planning and tailoring change management approaches to fit local needs and contexts. The scale of the VA's transition represents a unique opportunity to identify key influential factors, measure them, and use them to optimize implementation effectiveness. To identify measures of these facility-level factors, we conducted a systematic review and semi-structured interviews with content area experts, followed by a Delphi expert panel process that led to a 5-domain model of high-priority organizational factors influencing EHR transitions.

Objectives:
In this session, we will present this model, alongside the research base and expert panel from which it was derived.
