Description: Beginning in October, 2020, patient data from the Spokane Mann-Grandstaff Medical Center has been generated from the VA's new Millennium Electronic Medical Record (EHR). Researchers and analysts using data from Spokane will need to understand how this data can be used alongside data generated in VistA.
As an early exploration of Millennium-generated data, we conducted a review of vital signs in Millennium data using the CDWWork2 database. In this cyberseminar, we use this review as a case study of one user's first dive into Millennium data. We present analyses of blood pressure, height, weight, and body mass index measurements and describe methods to identify vital signs in the CDWWork2 data. SQL code developed to pull and analyze vital signs data will also be reviewed.
Attendees may wish to review the "VIReC Data Review: Vital Signs in Millennium", which will be discussed in this session.
Session Objectives:
-Provide a brief overview of the Millennium environment and select resources to guide data users
-Describe and compare the CDWWork2 and CDWWork3 databases that contain VA Millennium data
-Present the methods used to review vital signs in VA Millennium data from a new user perspective
