by Elizabeth Allen, MD ; Megan Johnson, MD, MPH ; Anais Tuepker, PhD, MPH
Seminar date: 7/17/2013

Description: VA primary care clinics that train medical residents must provide excellent patient centered care while also delivering a quality educational experience. In this cyberseminar, we will share how the Patient Aligned Care Teams (PACT) Initiative has been implemented at a VISN 20 teaching clinic, with attention to issues for team staffing models, care continuity, and using a team-based care approach. We will also describe the VISN 22 experience in implementing a new model for teaching medical residents how to collaborate with primary care mental health providers to optimize the behavioral health of their patients. The intended audience is clinicians, program administrators and researchers working with primary care clinics that include medical resident providers.
