Abstract:

The ESP Coordinating Center (ESP CC) is responding to a request from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Services Research and Development (HSRandD) program for an evidence brief on the effectiveness and harms of Virta Health and other virtual diet programs which include a coaching component for type 2 diabetes. The VA is planning to evaluate the effect of Virta Health among Veterans, and findings from this review could help inform power estimations, possible comparators and outcomes, and length of follow-up, among other study features.
