Leah L. Zullig, PhD, MPH, is a research investigator at the Durham VA Center for Health Services Research in Primary Care and an Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Duke University. Dr. Zullig completed her doctorate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Health Policy and Management. Dr. Zullig also holds a BS in Health Promotion and an MPH in Public Health Administration. In 2014, Dr. Zullig received a VA Career Development Award. Her primary research program combines an analysis of national administrative data sources with complementary patient-reported information. The goal is to improve colorectal cancer survivors' care quality through a self-management intervention that bridges cancer surveillance and chronic disease management. In addition to her Career Development Award, Dr. Zullig has conducted observational and intervention-related health services research focused on the reduction of healthcare disparities, development of cancer care quality monitoring systems, and promotion of patient chronic disease self-management. She has authored over 65 peer-reviewed publications.
