Presentations from the "Improving Health Care and Health Systems with Knowledge Translation" conference held from June 7-9, 2010 in Halifax, Nova Scotia are now available at http://www.kt10.ca. This conference presented a unique opportunity for leading knowledge translation (KT) researchers, policy makers, and other decision makers working in healthcare systems to engage in lively debate on the benefits and challenges of knowledge translation from a variety of perspectives. Conference themes included the challenges and rewards of building multi-disciplinary research collaborations and programs.
VA's Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QUERI) program added great value to this conference because it has been at the forefront of knowledge translation research for more than a decade. Christian Helfrich, PhD, part of the Ischemic Heart Disease QUERI Center, was co-Chair of the conference, and several investigators from other QUERI Centers participated in various workshops and panels.
